Meet Karen Adamolekun (unregistered barrister), an upcoming legal mind with an enthusiasm for the ever developing world of intellectual property.
The curiosity for developing technologies and the impact of these on the legal landscape have led Karen on a journey to navigate the intricacies of both innovation and law.
Karen Adamolekun brings a unique perspective to the table, having earned a Bachelor’s degree in Law at Queen’s University Belfast and written her first class undergraduate dissertation in pharmaceutical patent law; “An investigation into the relationship between the public health system and pharmaceutical patents, specifically whether there is a sufficient balance between protecting patent owner’s rights and sufficient access to public health, in the context of previous epidemics and Covid-19”.
Karen has also completed her BPTC and received a distinction in her combined LLM Legal Practice course in intellectual property at BPP London; “Navigating the Legal Landscape of Digital Art and NFTs: The Role of Intellectual Property Rights and Contracts”.
Further to her education, Karen is currently working in-house at a metaverse technology company where she supports the business with licence agreements, asset and trademark clearances, IP portfolio management in addition to commercial contract drafting and providing legal awareness within critical business work streams such as crypto, NFTs and intellectual property litigation law.
This academic background, combined with her current role and interest in this field has driven Karen to explore the uncharted territory where intellectual property law meets blockchain technology, crypto, web3, artificial intelligence, digital assets and SEC regulations.
